Drawings of THF part 2

MARKE X Michael Mann

Following the inaugural invitation of MARKE to launch the brands vision of the collaborative project VISION_INVITED, Berlin-based photographer Michael Mann creates a link between past and present with the brands signatures.

Finding inspiration in the works and oeuvre of Hannah Höch, Berlin-based artist of the Dada movement, who has dedicated her creative life to the fragmentation of visual worlds, rearranging and re-contextualising reality in collages and photographic montages, Michael has begun his journey to find aesthetic dialogue partners to the signature codes. Berlin-based and common ground, former airport Berlin Tempelhof is disclosing its paths. Although active participation in the air traffic has already ended in 2008, construction substances are working ever since. The result of years of human bustle, the area is covered in raw traces, scars of a past life. Constructed by humanity, enlivened, used, wasted and left behind by humanity, taken back by nature and decay.

Comparable to Hannah Höch, aggression is impeded by playfulness. Interacting with concrete and metal surfaces, the objects start to dance, play, hide, pull faces and caricature the human construction, creating life in a collapsing environment.

Deconstructing the articles, the silicone element is being dissembled to its original form as a fixture, a mending kit.

Ephemeral situations with long lasting effect. Seen, forgotten and, all of a sudden, brought back to mind, willing to animate thoughts, reflection and daring to explore new perspectives.
